Evergreen Oak Electric is proud to be a part of Chicago’s Green Exchange, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2009.

The Green Exchange, located at 2545 W. Diversey (overlooking the I-90/94), will become the country’s largest green business community under a single roof.

Several green features will be incorporated into the Green Exchange building, from a large water cistern to collect rain water, to green rooftops and gardens, to a solar thermal heating system. Over 90% of the original Frederick Cooper Lamp Factory building will be maintained, so in addition to Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED) certification, the building will achieve national landmark status by the National Park Service.
Our hands-on energy efficiency studio will be located on the third floor, open to the public six days a week. The green interior design is being developed by the innovative LEED architecture firm, 2Point Perspective. Take a look at the concept for yourself:

With a flat-screen interface, you can see for yourself how your choice in fixtures, switches and bulbs can dramatically affect energy usage. You can compare light quality and brightness. You can even calculate your return-on-investment for a new lighting system in a matter of minutes.
We encourage you to sign up for our Light Reading for updates on the Green Exchange studio progress. In the meantime, visit one of our Chicagoland locations for more information on energy efficient lighting and control options.
